TERRAPOLIS

A performer, a jackhammer and a pile of rocks attempt to crack the earth wide open and enter the void. Let's find something new together.

TERRAPOLIS is a new performance work that escapes fixed definitions; creating and recreating worlds in which we encounter organic and inorganic organisms, speculative fantasy and science fiction. Imagining alternative webs of relationships between human bodies and the “natural” through new imagined ecologies and eco-systems, social spaces, desires,  societies, species and objects. TERRAPOLIS decentres both linear time and human certainty and creates some sweet drum and bass from a pile of rocks.

Created by a team of award-winning creatives: performer Julia Croft, featuring live sound design by Jason Wright, performance design by Meg Rollandi and direction by Nisha Madhan.

TERRAPOLIS will premiered in April at Q Theatre, Auckland. supported by Creative New Zealand.
